The transformative power of artmaking is indisputable.
We see it in our programs every day, where children learn to express themselves,
work with others and complete tasks—all while expanding their cognitive, language
and motor skills. Still, too many children and schools are denied these benefits due
to a lack of funding.
That’s why the Children’s Art Studio launched a tuition-free program for students of
Educare DC, a year-round school for underserved families in Ward 7.

In our Educare program, 98% of teachers reported their students showed an increase in creativity and imagination, a depth of learning and a deep engagement in artmaking. Teachers also reported an increased sense of happiness and belonging in their students after 10 weeks with our programs.
We encourage kids to broaden their perspectives and see the world as a place of endless possibility. We use the highest quality materials in various media, so children feel the pride of achievement that builds self-esteem and confidence.
